Nasaruddin described the reason why scrapping religion from KTP could cause a chaotic situation especially within the Muslim community.
Nasaruddin described diversity in Indonesia as beautiful, calling for its preservation.
Those officials included Istiqlal Mosque’s grand imam Nasaruddin Umar, Religious Affairs Minister Lukman Hakim Saifuddin.
"With this Eid al-Fitr we increase the patriotism of country and the nation for the integrity of NKRI [the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia]," said Nasaruddin as quoted in a press release in Jakarta,
The Indonesian delegation to the Danish event included prominent religious representatives of Indonesia – mostly Muslims – such as Nasaruddin Umar, grand imam of the Istiqlal Mosque in Jakarta
He also stated that a legitimate government should be nurtured at all costs as it is the prerequisite for the propagation of Islam and its teachings.
